My is Matthew Kalamaris and I am a senior under the BS/MS accounting program here at UNT pursuing a career in audit. I decided I wanted to pursue accounting after taking my first accounting class in high school and began my college journey in fall 2023.
In my free time, I spend my days playing video games, watching many different sports, listening to music, and spending time with my friends, family, and girlfriend.
I am excited to meet and network with members and guest speakers and honored to be working with this great team of officers and grow along side them. I hope to see everyone at our events!
Hi! My name is Maresa Blanchard, and I am currently a Senior BS/MS Accounting student. I plan to concentrate in Audit and Data Analytics next fall for the MS portion of my degree.
This is my second semester in PASS and my first semester serving as Treasurer, and I can’t wait to help lead and grow PASS this semester with the rest of the officers! I am also very excited to meet and connect with all of the new PASS members.
Outside of PASS, I serve as Vice President of UNT’s Asian Student Association and am a member of the Don and Donna Millican Accounting Scholars Program. Beyond organizations, I love listening to music and attending concerts and sporting events. Just this past year, I attended 8 concerts and went to 5 Mavs games! I also enjoy building and collecting Legos!
This semester of PASS will be a blast as we have amazing speakers lined up, and I look forward to seeing everyone at our weekly meetings!
Hello everyone! My name is Shalom Kifilemariam. I am currently in the BS/MS Accounting program and will be graduating in the Fall of 2027. My path in accounting started in the Fall of 2023, and I've enjoyed every moment of it.
When I have my spare time, I love to take on hands-on projects, from building electronics to creating apps that leverage AI. I also have a passion for painting, with much of my inspiration coming from Edvard Munch's "The Scream" series. I was drawn to PASS because of the cool, supportive community and the incredible opportunities for networking. I look forward to connecting with all of you this semester!
Hi everyone! My name is Hana Hassanipour, and I am currently a junior Accounting student pursuing the BS/MS degree. I am interested in pursuing a career in public accounting and I plan on concentrating in Tax.
This is my second semester in PASS, and I am excited to be involved in an organization that supports the professional development, networking, and overall success of their members. I was first drawn to PASS when I noticed how friendly the officers, members, and guest speakers were, and how there was such a motivating atmosphere every time I came to a meeting. I am so grateful to be a part of the PASS community.
When I have spare time, I enjoy trying new coffee shops, doing yoga, and fostering animals. I’m looking forward to an amazing semester in PASS. We have some incredible speakers coming and I can’t wait to connect with everyone!
My name is John Houston and I am a senior in the BS/MS accounting program here at UNT. I’ve been interested in pursuing an education and eventual career in accounting since I took my first accounting course in spring of 2024.
When I have spare time, I like to play video games, watch movies and college football, hangout with my friends, and go to the gym.
I joined PASS in spring of 2025, and I’ve had a great time connecting with other accounting students and professionals in the accounting field. I decided to run for Director of Membership in order to continue to make these connections and help other students do the same.
I can’t wait to meet you all and I am very excited to work with my fellow officers in order to make this semester great!
My name is Peter Richards and I am in the BS/MS Accounting Program at UNT. I’ve always been a logical and analytical thinker, so accounting naturally clicked with me from the very beginning.
Last semester I had the pleasure of becoming an Accounting Supplemental Instructor for students in Accounting Principles I (ACCT 2010), thus reinforcing my passion for the industry. At the moment, I plan to graduate from the master's portion in May 2028 with a concentration in Taxation and Data Analytics. Ultimately, I aspire to be CPA and eventually make my way into the luxury fashion/goods sector of the corporate market.
A little fun fact about me is that both of my parents are British which means I hold dual citizenship (United States and United Kingdom/Great Britain).
My name is Jon Shoemaker. I'm a Senior here at UNT apart of the BS/MS accounting program with a concentration in Audit and Data Analytics. When I first arrived at UNT in the Fall of 2022, I originally majored in Media Arts to pursue a career in Film, TV, and Radio. After finishing some classes within the degree and doing some of my own research, I decided to make the leap and pursue a degree in business, which eventually lead me to pursue a career path in accounting after finishing ACCT 2010 last fall.
This semester will be my third being involved with PASS, and my second semester as the Director of Events. If you're new at all to accounting and have any questions on whether it's something you might want to pursue as your major or career, feel free to ask either myself or any other officer within PASS. We are always happy to answer any questions!
Last summer, I spent most of my time working as an Internal Audit Intern for a construction firm based in Dallas. I’ve been able to learn a lot about the business interaction of internal and external audit, and it has definitely deepened my passion for audit and accounting. In my other job, I work as a Lead Server at a sports bar down in Flower Mound. Outside of work and school, I enjoy staying physically active and usually try to make the effort to go to the gym as much as I can during the week.
This semester in PASS is going to be full of lots of fun, excitement, and great food. I can't wait to meet and see you all at our events this Fall!
Hi! My name is Brooke Bowen. I am currently a senior in the BS/MS Accounting program and will be graduating in the Fall of 2027. I plan to explore the world of audit in the MS portion.
This will be my third semester in PASS and I am super excited to keep talking to other accounting students and share our advice!!
While not working on schoolwork, you can catch me reading, playing videogames, or attending football games. I hope we all make great connections together!

In my spare time, I enjoy following all types of sports, playing video games, watching movies and TV shows, and spending time with my family. I also love traveling and have been fortunate to explore the world, thanks in part to my mom being from Spain!
